Terje Kaasik

Terje joined BDO Estonia in January 2017 as a Payroll Specialist and soon progressed to the position of Payroll and Reporting Services Project Manager, taking responsibility for large-scale and complex payroll projects, including the provision of services to internationally operating companies. Since October 2020, Terje has been leading BDO Estonia's Payroll and Reporting Services Business Line and is one of the firm's Partners.

As Head of the Business Line, Terje is responsible for its strategic and operational management, business performance, sustainable growth, and service development. Her responsibilities include setting and implementing business objectives, driving operational performance, optimizing business processes, and developing client-focused, value-added service solutions. She also plays a key role in identifying new business opportunities, fostering international cooperation, and building long-term, trusted client relationships.

Her leadership approach focuses on employee engagement, professional growth, performance management, and empowering team members to make independent decisions and take ownership of their responsibilities. In the areas of service quality and risk management, Terje focuses on continuous improvement, process standardization, the effectiveness of internal controls, and regulatory compliance. Her objective is to ensure consistently high standards of service quality, reliability, and operational efficiency while meeting the needs and expectations of both local and international clients. In addition to Payroll and Reporting Services, Terje oversees the development and delivery of Human Resources (HR) management and recruitment services, as well as projects related to GDPR compliance and personal data protection.

Prior to joining BDO, Terje gained professional experience in the financial sector at DnB Bank and in the accounting department of a logistics company. She has extensive practical experience in payroll and personnel administration, including working with various payroll and HR software solutions.

Terje graduated from Tallinn School of Economics with a degree in Accounting and Taxation, obtaining a professional higher education qualification. Committed to continuous professional and leadership development, she regularly attends training courses covering payroll, employment law, human resource management, quality and risk management, data protection, and organizational leadership.
